What is a Business Insurance Pack?

Business Insurance Pack is designed to protect your business and its assets against liability and unexpected events. For example, if a fire damaged your office and you were no longer able to host clients on the premises, it can include cover for the cost to repair the damage. It can also include public liability, and coverage for financial loss you incur from not being able to operate due to an insured event.

As specialist brokers, Aon can arrange insurance tailored for risks commonly faced by small businesses, giving you the confidence of quality cover at a competitive price.

Why do I need a Business Insurance pack?

Your business is more than your job – it’s your passion, and your livelihood. So if there was a fire, or if a customer was to slip and injure themselves whilst on your premises, the cost of keeping your business afloat could be very high. This is where insurance can step in and help cover the cost to repair the damage, or to help cover damages you become legally liable to pay so you’re not forced to pay out of your own pocket.

Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some questions commonly asked by clients.
How much does Business Insurance cost?
The cost of Business Insurance varies by the types and levels of cover you select, and the profession you’re in. To get a quote for Business Insurance, click here.
I’ve already taken out Professional Indemnity Insurance – do I need Business Insurance as well?
Whilst Professional Indemnity Insurance helps cover claims made against your business by customers alleging they suffered financial loss due to your services or advice, this doesn’t cover your physical premises or contents if they’re damaged by an insured event. It also may not include cover for your legal liability in the event of personal injury or property damage to a third party cause by your business operations.
Can I pay for my policy monthly?
Yes, you can, monthly payments can be arranged through a premium funding agreement with Hunter Premium Funding2 to help you spread the costs of your insurance across the year. Please note that the total overall cost is higher if you pay monthly. Contact us on 1300 836 028 or by email on customer.service@aondirect.com.au
How do I make a claim?
You will find details of how to make a claim in the policy wording you receive from us. However, we also appreciate that having to make a claim can be a stressful time which is why as your advocate we are always on hand to help with any questions. But I am a professional consultant - I dont have stock for sale, why do i need business insurance?
Even if you don’t have any stock for sale on your premises, if an insured event damaged your office and you could no longer access your computer/network drive, this would affect your ability to service clients. Business Insurance can help to cover the cost to restore access to your data and devices, as well as the lost income you incur during this period. Additionally, Business Insurance can help cover your liability for third party personal injury or property damage.

What are your opening hours?
Our opening hours are 8.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday (AET, except public holidays). If you need to contact us out of hours you can email clicking here and your query will be picked up on the next business day.

How do I renew my policy?
Your renewal offer and schedule will be sent to you via your elected email address, approximately 30 days before your renewal date. It is important at this stage to review the details of our offer carefully (remember pricing and coverage levels may have changed so it is important to review). You will need to notify us if your business has gone through any of the following changes:
  • Changes in your activities that may require amendments to your policy;
  • Facts or circumstances which may result in a claim against you in the future that have not already been reported to Aon
  • Income has increased by more than 20% or
  • Fee income exceeds $1,000,000 per annum.
If you are happy with the offer and wish to accept, it is important that you make your payment by the date specified on your tax invoice so that you remain insured.

What if I need to make a change to my insurance?
It is important to keep your policy up to date with the changing shape of your business but also to keep your business and personal information up to date in the event of a claim.

Should your circumstances have changed, for example you have moved or the value of your building or contents have changed and you are not sure if your existing insurance covers it anymore then you can always call one of our experienced friendly brokers to discuss on 1300 836 028.
