This is one of the most important covers you may need for your event. Public Liability is designed to cover your legal liability in the event of a third party injury or property damage that occurs during your event.  No matter how carefully you plan, incidents such as these can happen without any warning, whether it’s overlooking a stray wire or a broken chair. Many venues may also require that you hold Public Liability prior to allowing you to hire their venue.
Public Liability for small events (less than 2,000 attendees) is available through Aon online, so you can get quotes and take out cover in just a few clicks.

This is an optional insurance product, and includes cover for costs and expenses or revenues associated with an event should it be cancelled, postponed or interrupted due to unforeseen circumstances. Some scenarios include unavoidable inability /non-appearance of speakers, teams or performers at your event, severe weather or natural catastrophe and denial of access to the event location.1

If your events equipment is damaged in the course of your event, the additional financial burden of replacing it would be the last thing you’d need. Equipment Insurance is therefore available as an optional cover. The equipment insurance Aon arrange is applicable worldwide (unless otherwise specified in your schedule) and importantly, covers equipment in transit, during use and in storage. Business Insurance is designed to protect your business and its assets (including equipment) against certain unexpected events. For example it can include cover for damage to business premises and/or equipment caused by fire, storm, theft and other insured events. Cover is also available for damage to money (if you keep cash on premises), and portable contents such as mobile phones and laptops.2

A key part of this policy is Business Interruption, which can provide protection for lost revenue in the event your business is unable to operate as usual due to an insured peril.

Business Insurance is made up of a number of cover sections, and you can choose the sections that relate to your business. Cover is also available for damage to money (if you keep cash on premises), portable contents such as mobile phones and laptops, and Public Liability.

What do single-event Event Protect policies arranged through Aon cover?
This cover is appropriate for a single event you’re planning for your organisation or business where the number of attendees is either <1000 or between 1000 and 2000.
We can arrange cover for these event types:
  • Annual General Meetings (AGMs) / Meetings / Presentations / Award Functions / Conferences / Seminars / Corporate Functions / Gala dinners / Charity Balls

What does the Annual Event Protect policy arranged through Aon cover?
This cover is appropriate for Annual Event Organisers, Event Co-ordinators, Production Managers & Stage Managers who organise more than 1 of the event types listed above (excluding concerts) each year.
What if I organise more than one event but don’t need 12 months cover?
Should you hold 2 or more planned events per year, it may be more cost effective for you to purchase annual events cover than to purchase e.g. 2 or 3 single event covers. Plus, should your organisation/business add another event to your calendar, you know you’ll already have cover with this policy.

Can I pay my premium on a monthly basis?
We are able to arrange periodical payment solutions including monthly payment through our premium funding option. This option is not available through our online quoting system, so if you are interested in premium funding, we ask that you please contact our Entertainment team on 1800 806 584 or au.entertainment@aon.com

Is insurance a mandatory requirement for events?
While there is no governing body which mandates insurance for events,  some of your clients or some event venues may require you to hold Public Liability insurance before commencing work. Regardless of whether it is a requirement, insurance should still be an important consideration if you’re holding an event.
 
How do I make a claim?
You will find details of how to make a claim in the policy wording you receive from us. However, we also appreciate that having to make a claim can be a stressful time which is why as your advocate we are always on hand to help with any questions. Please do not hesitate to call us on 1800 806 584.

What if I need to make a change to my policy?
It is important to keep your policy up to date with the changing shape of your work and also to keep your business and personal information up to date in the event of a claim.
Should your business circumstances have changed, for example you have changed the services that you offer and you are not sure if your existing insurance covers it anymore, then you can always call one of our experienced friendly brokers to discuss on 1800 806 584.

How do I renew my policy?
Your renewal offer will be sent to you via your elected email address. Approximately 30 days before your renewal date you will receive a renewal email and schedule from Aon. It is important at this stage to review the details of our offer carefully (remember pricing and coverage levels may have changed so it is important to review). If you are happy with the offer and wish to accept there is nothing more for you to do your policy will automatically renew on the expiry date of your previous policy and you will receive an invoice via your elected email. It is important that you pay this invoice by the date specified on your invoice to ensure you are covered, if you do not pay your invoice before the start date your new policy, your cover may lapse.

What should I do if I have not received my certificate of currency or renewal offer/documents?
