Business Insurance is designed to protect your business and its assets against liability and unexpected events. For example, if a fire damaged your office and you were no longer able to host clients on the premises, it can include cover for the cost to repair the damage. It can also include public liability, and coverage for financial loss you incur from not being able to operate due to an insured event.

As specialist brokers, Aon can arrange tailored insurance for risks commonly faced by small businesses, giving you the confidence of optimal cover at a competitive price.

“Above and beyond service from Aon’s dedicated agent Vanessa, quickly responded to my online chat request with a call back and addressed all my questions in a patient, professional manner.”
Cesar, Environmental Consultant

Your business is more than your job – it’s your passion, and your livelihood. So if there was a fire, or if a customer was to slip and injure themselves whilst on your premises, the cost of keeping your business afloat could be very high. This is where insurance can step in and help cover the cost to repair the damage, or to help cover damages you become legally liable to pay so you’re not forced to pay out of your own pocket.

Business Insurance through Aon offers several types of coverages to choose from, and you will need to decide what best suits your needs based on the nature of your business and the biggest risks you face.

The following cover types are available through an Aon consultant*:

  • Public Liability

Third party personal injury or property damage that occurs as a result of your business activities

  • Contents

Loss or damage to your contents and stock as a result of fire, storm or other insured events

  • Theft

Loss or damage to contents or stock resulting from theft or attempted theft at your premises

  • Glass

Cost to replace internal or external glass that is damaged or broken

  • Business Interruption

Cover for lost income resulting from an insured event

  • Portable Equipment

Cover for loss or damage to your portable contents, such as laptops, mobile phones and tools

  • Money

Loss, theft or damage to money belonging to your business whilst on your premises, in transit at your private residence

  • Buildings

Cover for the cost to repair damage to your building (if you're the owner) if it damaged by an insured event

    * Subject to the full terms, conditions, exclusions and limits of the policy

Common reasons

A customer attended our client’s offices and slipped on water on the floor, injuring her collarbone.  The spilled water had not been cleaned because the office manager did not see it. However, the office did have protocols in place to monitor the area to clean and clear the floors. The customer appointed solicitors to sue our client.

Our client had Business Insurance through Aon which provided cover for Public Liability.

Aon facilitated the appointment of lawyers on the insurer’s panel to defend the claim.  Our client was only out-of-pocket the cost of the policy excess.  All the costs for defending the claim in litigation, and finally to settle the claim, were paid by the insurer
