Tailored insurance for Naturopaths
Naturopaths insurance includes both Professional Indemnity and Public Liability in one policy.
Why do Naturopaths need Professional Indemnity insurance?
As a Naturopath, you use natural remedies like herbs, massage, acupuncture, and nutritional counselling to help the body heal itself. You aim to treat the mind, body, and soul of your clients. Although you want the best outcome for your client, you may come across someone who’s not happy with your professional services. If a client claims that you caused an injury, or they lost money because of your advice or treatment, they could take legal action against you.
Naturopaths Indemnity insurance is designed to protect you if something goes wrong while you’re treating a patient, it includes cover against a wide range of risks like claims of professional negligence.2
If you’re a practising Naturopath, you need to be covered by a level of Professional Indemnity insurance that meets the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency standard.3
Why do Naturopaths need Public Liability insurance?
You could practise from your premises or see clients in Timbuktu, whatever floats your boat. But let’s say you’re setting the ‘naturopathic’ mood and place candles around to calm yourself as well as your clients. Someone comes in off the street to find out where that magical aroma is coming from and they slip on some massage oil you’ve spilled, while they’re falling a candle is knocked over, and the oil catches alight. Now they’re rolling around trying to put their burning pants out. You could be held liable for their injuries and damage to their property.
Naturopaths Liability insurance provides cover for legal liabilities if a member of the public makes a claim that they were injured, or damage was caused to their property because of your business dealings or on your premises.2
